A total of 1,000 residents of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) will be specially invited to the 79th Independence Day (HUT) celebration of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in 2024. This event will be held in the National Capital (IKN), North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU).
The ceremony, led by President Joko Widodo, will be a historic moment as it will be held outside Jakarta for the first time.
Kesbangpol is responsible for inviting various community elements such as organization leaders, people with disabilities, religious leaders, youth, women, and traditional leaders. The Kominfo Office is also requested to invite media editors-in-chief. “A thousand people representing the residents and community elements of East Kalimantan can be accommodated, and we entrust Kesbangpol to arrange it,” said East Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Sri Wahyuni while leading the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of the 79th Independence Day at the Secretary’s Meeting Room, East Kalimantan Governor’s Office, on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
For transportation, Sri asked the East Kalimantan Transportation Agency to coordinate with the East Kalimantan Regional Police regarding bus availability. “The Ministry of Transportation will provide 97 buses for the VIP group,” she added.
To enliven the Independence Day celebration, banners and billboards will be installed along the roads to welcome the heirloom flag from Sepinggan Airport to Sepaku. “Banners and billboards should be prepared and installed starting in early August,” she requested.
To ensure the smooth implementation and security of the Independence Day ceremony, further meetings will be held with the VI Mulawarman Military Command, East Kalimantan Regional Police, and the Presidential/State Secretariat.
